Name of the dish and origin:
Dal Makani is an Indian dish from the Punjab region. It is bad from whole black lentils and cream.
What inspired you to make the dish:
It is a relatively common dish at restaurants. It is one we always got at restaurants, so I figured I could try to make it at home. It is also a common dish for vegetarians.
What did you like about the food:
It tasted just like at the restaurant.
What would you have done differently or how did you modify the recipe:
I didn't modify the recipe. Maybe just add a bit less cream.

This dish traditionally goes well with chapati or paratha. I decided to make chapati.
